மும்மூர்த்தி குகையிலிருந்து மேற்கு நோக்கிச் சிறிது தூரம் சென்றால் ஒரே அறையுடன் கூடிய குகைக் கோயில் குடைவித்துள்ளதைக் காணலாம். கருவறை எந்த கடவுளரும் இல்லாமல் வெறுமையாய் காணப்பட்டாலும் இருபுறம் பெண் துவாரபாலர்கள் இருப்பதால் இது கொற்றவைக்காக அமைக்கப்பட்ட கோயில் என்று வல்லுநர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர். நீண்ட சதுரமான அமைப்புடைய இக்குடவரை கோயிலுள்ள பெண் துவாரபாலர்கள் இருவரும், மெலிந்து, வசீகரமான தோற்றத்துடன் காணப்படுகின்றனர். தென்புறமுள்ள பெண், வலது கையில் வில்லைப் பிடித்து நிற்கிறாள். வடபுறமுள்ள பெண், வலது கையில் கத்தியுடனும் இடது கையானது தடிமீது வைத்து நிற்கிறாள். இரண்டு காவற்பெண்களும் மார்பிலும், இடுப்பிலும் கச்சணிந்து காணப்படுகின்றனர்.
மண்டபத்தின் முன்புறத்தைச் சதுர அமைப்புடையத் தூண்கள் தாங்கி நிற்பது போன்று வடித்துள்ளனர். அதில் தென்புறத் தூணில் மேல் பகுதியில் ‘வாமாங்குசன்‘ என்ற பெயர் பல்லவ கிரந்த எழுத்தில் பொறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ‘வாமாங்குசன்‘ என்பது இராஜசிம்மன் / நரசிமவர்மனின் பட்டப் பெயராகக் காணப்படுகிறது. ‘வாமாங்குசன்‘ தெலுங்கு சோழ தளபதியின் படப்பெயராக இருக்கலாம் என்றும் கருதுகின்றனர். பல்லவர்களுக்கு அடங்கி ஆண்ட சிற்றரசன் ஒருவனின் பெயராக இருக்கலாம் என்று திரு. கூ.ரா.சீனிவாசன் கருதுகிறார்.

Kotikal Mandapa is a one-room tiny cave temple that can be found a bit further west from the Mummurthy Cave. It is a single-cell shrine; presently, the cell has no idol. Although the sanctum sanctorum appears empty without any deity, experts believe it is a temple built for Goddess Durga, as are female Dwarapalas on either side. The female on the south side holds a bow in her right hand. The woman to the north stands with a knife in her right hand and her left hand resting on a staff.
Two thick pillars and pilasters support the small mandapa on the front side. In it, the name ‘Sri Vamankusa‘ is inscribed in the Pallava Granth script on the upper part of the southern pillar. ‘Vamankusa‘ is found to be the title of Rajasimha / Narasimhavarman. Scholars also believe that ‘Vamankusa‘ may be the name of the Telugu Chola commander.
