ஆலமர்செல்வன்! தெக்கணமூர்த்தி! தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி!

அமைதியாக புன்னகை தவழும் முகத்தோடு அருள்பாலிக்கும் தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி தனது இடது காலை மடித்து, வலக்காலை முயலகன் முதுகின்மீது தொங்கவிட்டு, பத்ம பீடத்தில் அமர்ந்த நிலையில் காட்சி தருகிறார். பெரும்பாலும் ஆலயங்களில் முயலகன் மீது கால் வைத்து சின்முத்திரை காட்டி சனகாதி முனிவர்களுக்கு சாத்திரங்களை உபதேசம் செய்கின்ற வியாக்கியான தட்சிணாமூர்த்தியையே தரிசிக்கிறோம்.

All Siva temples have the image of Dakshinamurthy in the South-facing Koshta. And also, the Vimana of the Siva temples majorly portray images of Dakshinamurthy facing the southern direction. The iconic illustration of Dakshinamurthy represents Shiva, installed under a banyan tree, enlightening the Sanakaadi Rishis.
